About Stef

One photographer, three studio names, sixteen years — and the same way of working throughout.

The Photographer

Hi, I'm Stefan van Deventer

Stef, to everyone I've photographed. I've been photographing people since 2010 — first as ST Photo, then as SN Photography, and today as StefCreated for portraits and everyday work, and Stefsetherealdream (@stefsetherealdream) for the more intimate, artistic side of what I shoot.

The name on the studio has changed a few times over sixteen years. What hasn't: sessions run unhurried, led by conversation rather than a rigid shot list, built around making the person in front of my camera feel like themselves, not a stranger's idea of them.

The equipment's better and the name on the door has changed a few times, but the job hasn't — make people feel like themselves in front of a camera, then get out of the way and shoot it. — Stefan van Deventer
The Journey

ST Photo → SN Photography → StefCreated

Three names, one thread running through all of them — still the same photographer, still based in Centurion.

2010

ST Photo

Where it started — a first camera, and the beginning of shooting professionally in and around Centurion.

Along the way

SN Photography

The work grew into SN Photography, taking on more weddings, portraits, and personal sessions along the way. The snphotography.co.za address still belongs to the studio, which is why this site lives on it.

Today

StefCreated & Stefsetherealdream

The current chapter: StefCreated for family-facing work, and Stefsetherealdream for boudoir and fine-art nude sessions — kept as its own space.

Philosophy

How sessions actually work

Every booking starts with a conversation, not a contract. We talk through what you want out of the session — the mood, the setting, how much direction you want versus how much you'd rather things unfold naturally.

On the day, the aim is always the same: fewer forced poses, more real moments, and a final gallery that actually feels like you.

Every client is welcome here, full stop — every gender, orientation, culture, age, body type, and family structure. If you're the person in front of the camera, this is for you.

Based In

Centurion, South Africa

The studio is based in Centurion, Gauteng, with sessions shot on-location or in-studio depending on the brief. On-location portrait sessions are shot across Gauteng and further afield; glamour and Stefsetherealdream sessions are typically shot from the Centurion studio.
