Of everything given on a wedding day, a bridal boudoir album is the one that gets kept in the bedside drawer for thirty years. It is also the one that needs the most quiet planning, because the whole point is that your partner does not know. This guide covers the practical side: when to shoot, how to keep it private, and how it arrives.

When to book

Six to ten weeks before the wedding is ideal. Late enough that hair, skin and any fitness goals are where you want them, early enough that the gallery and an album are ready before the day. Sessions can also be shot on the wedding morning itself, quietly, in the twenty minutes after hair and make-up and before the dress, which gives a very particular set of photographs. Most brides choose a separate private session; some do both.

Keeping it secret

Say at booking that it is a surprise. From that point everything is planned around it: the booking link is sent to your number only, invoices carry the studio name and nothing else, the gallery is password-protected and sent to an address you choose, and an album can be delivered to a friend or held at the studio for collection. Nothing is ever posted publicly, and nothing is shared with anyone but you unless you say so, in writing.

What to bring

The pieces that will mean something on the day: the lingerie chosen for the wedding night, the robe you will get ready in, the veil, the shoes, the rings. The dress itself, if you can bring it discreetly, gives one or two frames that are unlike anything else. A partner's shirt or jersey is a classic for a reason. Bring more than you think you will use; the session is paced so there is time to change without hurrying.

On the day

Arrive in loose clothing so there are no marks on your skin. Hair and make-up can be done beforehand, or an artist can be added to the session. The first ten minutes are for talking, not shooting. Your comfort levels, set on the booking link, shape the whole session: nothing marked off-limits is ever suggested. Sessions are one-on-one in the Centurion studio unless you would prefer a friend present. Nerves are normal, and they go. The first boudoir session guide covers the day in more detail.

Delivery and the album

Your gallery arrives privately within roughly two weeks. From it, a small keepsake album is the usual gift: a linen or leather cover, no branding, sized to be handed over rather than displayed. Discreet packaging is standard. A single framed print is another option, and some brides write a note to go in the box. The album is included as an add-on in the quote estimator.

Afterwards

The full gallery is yours to keep, in full resolution, forever. Consent for any portfolio use is a separate, written opt-in that most bridal clients never give, and that is exactly as it should be.

Quick answers

How far in advance should I book bridal boudoir?

Six to ten weeks before the wedding for a separate session, so the gallery and album are ready in time. Wedding-morning sessions are booked with the timeline.

How do you keep it a surprise?

Everything is sent to you alone: the booking link, the password-protected gallery and any album, which can be delivered to a friend or collected. Nothing is ever posted.

Can my partner come to the session?

The session is yours. Some couples book a second, joint session after the wedding, which is planned separately.
